By Gered Mankowitz - At the end of the Fall 1965 US tour the band went into the RCA Studios in Hollywood CA. to begin recording what would become the “Aftermath” album. This was a breakthrough album for the band, and their first album where most of the tracks on it were penned by Mick & Keith. Amongst other tracks on the album were “Paint It Black”, “Under My Thumb” and “Going Home”. Having spent nearly 6 weeks on the road with the guys I was very much at home with them and felt almost like one of the band! They were comfortable with me being around and I had total access throughout the performances and in the recording studio.
